2022 — Casa Shalva
A slab of stone, its edge left as it split, on a fluted stone column. A flame burns from a bowl cut into the top.
Inspired by the stone temples of Greece and the pyramids of Mexico. A monumental, fluted base with raw edges, and only the top cut smooth. The round curves are feminine, the fire masculine — held in balance.
Stone that holds fire. The room gathers around it.
Casa Shalva on the cover of Elle Decor Italia, the fire table at the centre of the room.
